about
Sunday State never passes on a challenge. Giving one of the weirder and most tragic Christmas songs ever recorded a different energy seemed like a good one. We aren’t sure what John Denver was thinking when he tracked this tune, but we sure had fun with it. As always we like to push things a little darker (in this case to match the lyrics). We descended into the basement one dark December evening and caught a lo-fi take of this white elephant gift of a song. Hope you enjoy it and that it becomes your kids' favorite classic from the year none of us will ever forget. Cheers!
